Removing the Front Roof

Front Roof

1 - Before you can remove Front Roof, the first step is to remove the Wiper Arms and the Cowl.

2 - The next step is to remove the Interior Headliner.

3 - Remove 4 fender screws on each fender, also remove antenea on passenger side. This wll allow you to pull the fender SLIGHTLY outward.

 

4 - Remove the 2 screws holding the bottom of the roof

 

5 - Remove the sunroof (Glass) from the car by either "uncliping" the sunroof latch or removing the 2 nuts for the sunroof latch

 

6 - Remove the 3 nuts holding the rear clip to the roof

    

 

7 - Remove 2 nuts for the front roof

       

 

8 - Remove 6 screws from sunroof track

       

 

9 - Remove rubber sceal from outer sunroof railling

       

 

10 - Drill out the 14 rivets from sunroof track

 

11 - Once the rivets are drilled out, remove the suroof tracks and the 2 front sunroof hinge catch

 

12 - Cut off remaining urethane and windshield rubber trim left all around the windshield hole

 

13 - Cut the urethane seal all around the roof

 

14 - Remove the roof drip moulding. Grab the back section and pull outward.

 

15 - Make sure that the front fenders are out of the way ( By pulling them outward SLIGHTLY). Starting at the cowl, slowly lift the roof assembly, it is hard to remove because butyl ruber was applied to the underpart of the roof. The trick is to lift the roof assembly VERY SLOWLY !!!

 

16 - Once the roof is removed, clean off all the butyl rubber from both the roof and the car
